Have tried all the solutions listed on this and other forums, no joy.
I’m getting this as well after not changing anything.
edit: After reading another thread, I think my Australian ISP may be throttling during the early hours.
This can be a firewall issue. If you have disabled your firewall and the problem still exists the problem might be also due to our network protocol being filtered and/or shaped by your ISP. This is a problem for some players and due to this we have now modified our backend to feed the anticheat module by HTTP protocol.

Hi all, w!z@rD and I decided it would be a good time to add in a thread for Frequently Asked Questions so we don’t have to repeat answers (as much), or something for us to link to. It is also a nice place for new players to learn a few things and includes how you might be able to fix common issues (such as crashes, connection issues, and a whole ton of EasyAntiCheat errors) which people experience.
Please note that there can be many different things that can affect a bug/crash, but these are common things which might be able to fix your issue. If the answer does not fix your issue, check previous discussions, or make your own thread on the Steam Discussions or on the Official Paradox Forums, thanks!

‣ What is Magicka: Wizard Wars?
Hi there! Magicka Wizard Wars is an awesome PVP game made by Paradox North (of Paradox Interactive). You are a Wizard, and can cast spells using the 8 elements; Fire (F), Rock (D), Death (S), Lightning (A), Frost (R), Shield (E), Life (W) and Water (Q). Combine up to three elements and use the Right Mouse Button to cast your spell or use the Middle Mouse Button to selfcast and use the Left Mouse Button to move. When you first start playing you’ll be asked to go through some tutorials to help you learn, though there is some great guides too, such as Beginner’s Guide to Magicka: Wizard Wars by myself, and Magicka Wizard Wars: The Complete Guide by Auron D, w!z@rD, H4wG and Loopuleasa; along with many other Guides in the Guides section of the steamhub.
In the Duel Gamemode, It’s a 1v1 fight where you have to kill the opponent and protect yourself. The first wizard that wins 3 rounds wins the duel!
Similar to Duel, there is the Team Deathmatch (4v4) gamemode. In this mode, two teams of four fight and the first to three points wins. There are no points to capture; once a player dies they will stay dead until revived, or if all players on the team die the opposing team gets a point.
There is also the Soul Harvest gamemode, where you fight goblins and trolls to collect souls. Most small creatures drop only 1 soul, but there are some creatures which drop more, such as the minibosses shown by the star icon on the map, and the Troll shown by a skull icon, which drops 20 souls. The basic idea is to collect as many souls as you can to weaken the enemies effigy, once weakened completely or enough that you think the team can take it down, your team should try to attack it. Magicks can damage the effigy so are quite useful, especially the Tier 4 ones. For more information check the Soul Harvest Guide by w!z@rD.
There is also a button in the bottom left for Custom Matches where you can set up a lobby and make your own teams, and have the option to have up to two people spectate your game.
‣ How do you earn crowns, experience, and level up?
You earn experience and crowns after finishing a game. Things that effect these are: killing players; helping assist in kills; killing imps; and capping points amongst a few other things. Currently there is no experience bonus for healing, although you should still heal others. When you earn enough experience you will level up, which provides a crown bonus and a crystal.
‣ What are Mastery Tokens, How do I get them?
Mastery tokens is a currency for the mastery tree. They can be obtained as a random drop at the end of matches and as a reward for levelling up. When you have a booster enabled, extra tokens are dropped at each level-up.
‣ What are Magicks?
Magicks are «special» powerful spells, They have four tiers and can be casted using the 1-4 keys for each tier of Magick. Each tier also uses up the number of parts of the ‘Focus Meter’ which is displayed at the bottom while ingame. Focus is gained when killing players, imps and capping points. Magicks can be unlocked via the new progression tree using Mastery Tokens and there are Magick scrolls which can be purchased from the store or as a random end of game drop, each scroll provides a single use of that Magick.
‣ How can I get better at the game?
Check out Trance’s Wizard Academy, after signing up you can get lessons from very good players who have been with the game from the very beginning.

‣ (Warfare Gamemode) Is capping points more important that killing?
Most of the time capping is quite important, if the entire team focuses on killing they will lose their spawn points and won’t be able to spawn so it is usually a good idea for the team to focus on capping and kill enemies on the way. Also capping is usually less dangerous than running straight into battle provided that you go to a spawn point where there is unlikely to be opponents. You can cap up to 10 spawn points before you no longer score points for them.
‣ What drops can I get at the End of a Game?
Drops at the end of game include: Mastery Tokens (0-3?), Treasure Keys for the Chest, Basic/Low-Tier Crafting Materials and Crystal Shards. When having a booster there is extra rewards.
‣ What drops can I get from the Chest?
Crowns of various values (2.5K lowest), Mastery Tokens (rare), Crystals(common)/Gems(rare) and other Crafting Materials(common), Rare robes and weapons, Epic robes and weapons. See this guide for a more detailed list of avaliable items (in the Treasure Chest section).
The more games you win, the higher the chest multiplier will increase and this makes rarer items a little less rare. At x10, you are 10 times as likely to get a rare than if you were at x1 (no matches won). Treasure keys are not affected by the multipler.
‣ How do you get crafting materials?
Some materials are crafted from other materials, while un-craftable materials are found as random end-of-match drops and chest drops. You can also salvage crafting materials and Magick scrolls for a chance to get their components back.
‣ I’ve activated a DLC/Steam Code but the items are not in-game. What do I do?
After activating a code on Steam, a in-game pop-up appears on the left side after logging in to redeem the items to your Paradox Account. It can sometimes take a while for it to be processed properly though, so if you have only just redeemed a item, wait a few hours and the pop-up should appear.
‣ Whenever I try and play there is Code:»Mule»
It might be that the server you are on is currently down. Try the other region.
‣ Matchmaking is really long
Try the other server and see if it is any better there.
‣ What are Macros?
A macro is a key or button that can automatically trigger the input of several keys or mouse clicks. In this particular game a macro would be able to do a spell quickly rather than having to type it all in.
‣ Someone is continuously team-killing me or is using hacks, What can I do?
Hover over their name on the end-of-match screen to report players, You can also take screenshots/video evidence and send them to Escher or w!z@rD. If the evidence is good enough he/she might be banned. Please do not post the name on these discussions.
A quick note:
A «Crash» is when the game closes unintentionally. An error message may be shown.
A «Freeze» is when the game screen freezes and nothing is moving but the game does not close.

‣ I can’t verify my email.
If you can’t verify your email, contact Paradox Support Zendesk [paradox.zendesk.com] (using the «Submit Request» in the top corner) and hopefully they will be able to fix it for you.
‣ I have a Steam Shared Library with my friend and cannot play the game.
This seems to be a bug with steam, Disable the Steam Shared Library and this should fix it.
‣ I’ve found a bug! How do I report it?
Post in the Technical Support & Bug Reports [forum.paradoxplaza.com] section of the Official Paradox Forums. Though please search to see if there is already a thread before posting to avoid multiple threads reporting the same bug. Keep bug reports clear and simple, but also informative, provide images and/or videos if you think it necessary.
‣ The game is minimized on the taskbar (Game is running but invisible, shows desktop).
After launching the game try right-clicking and Maximize, or Alt+Enter. Or try one of the F9-F11 keys. Note that you shouldn’t click on the desktop or you might lose focus of the MWW window and the keyboard shortcuts won’t work then. If you lose focus, just click it on the taskbar and that should regain it, or relaunch it entirely.
‣ I’ve just started playing, and it never loads the training / The play button just says «Connecting. » / Lots of Slug/Rhino errors and the Error Codes Thread did not help
Restart the game and switch the region on the main menu and see if it works then, if not check to see if Windows Firewall (And your antivirus) is blocking connections. If it is let through fine, then try changing your DNS; it is known to solve connection issues. Google DNS [developers.google.com] is something you can switch to (see the configuration instructions on that link for instructions on how to do this).
‣ Huge framerate drops and freezing
It sounds like the game is putting your graphics card under a lot of stress. Try adjusting some of the graphics settings in the ingame menu, Make sure V-Sync is on ingame and see if that makes a difference.
‣ Fatal Error : «Failed to start the game»
AVG Antivirus has been causing this issue lately, but it could also happen if other anti-virus programs are blocking the game. Here are instructions for AVG to set up a Exception/Exclusion, it should be a similar method for most anti-virus programs, you can search on the internet if you cannot find how to set up an exception on yours.

О: Скорее всего проблема в поврежденных файлах игры. В подобном случае рекомендуется переустановить игру, предварительно скопировав все сохранения. В случае если игра загружалась из официального магазина за сохранность прогресса можно не переживать.
Magicka: Wizard Wars не работает на консоли.
О: Обновите ПО до актуальной версии, а так же проверьте стабильность подключения к интернету. Если полное обновление прошивки консоли и самой игры не решило проблему, то стоит заново загрузить игру, предварительно удалив с диска.
Ошибка 0xc000007b.
О: Есть два пути решения.
Первый — полная переустановка игры. В ряде случаев это устраняет проблему.
Второй состоит из двух этапов:
Ошибка 0xc0000142.
О: Чаще всего данная ошибка возникает из-за наличия кириллицы (русских букв) в одном из путей, по которым игра хранит свои файлы. Это может быть имя пользователя или сама папка в которой находится игра. Решением будет установка игры в другую папку, название которой написано английскими буквами или смена имени пользователя.
Ошибка 0xc0000906.
О: Данная ошибка связана с блокировкой одного или нескольких файлов игры антивирусом или “Защитником Windows”. Для её устранения необходимо добавить всю папку игры в исключени. Для каждого антивируса эта процедура индивидуально и следует обратиться к его справочной системе. Стоит отметить, что вы делаете это на свой страх и риск. Все мы любим репаки, но если вас часто мучает данная ошибка — стоит задуматься о покупке игр. Пусть даже и по скидкам, о которых можно узнать из новостей на нашем сайте.
Отсутствует msvcp 140.dll/msvcp 120.dll/msvcp 110.dll/msvcp 100.dll
О: Ошибка возникает в случае отсутствия на компьютере корректной версии пакета Microsoft Visual C++, в который и входит msvcp 140.dll (и подобные ему). Решением будет установка нужной версии пакета.
После загрузки и установки нового пакета ошибка должна пропасть. Если сообщение об отсутствии msvcp 140.dll (120, 110, 100) сохраняется необходимо сделать следующее:
Ошибка 0xc0000009a/0xc0000009b/0xc0000009f и другие
О: Все ошибки начинающиеся с индекса 0xc0000009 (например 0xc0000009a, где на месте “а” может находиться любая буква или цифра) можно отнести к одному семейству. Подобные ошибки являются следствием проблем с оперативной памятью или файлом подкачки.
Размер файла подкачки должен быть кратен 1024. Объём зависит от свободного места на выбранном локальном диске. Рекомендуем установить его равным объему ОЗУ.
Если ошибка 0xc0000009а сохранилась, необходимо проверить вашу оперативную память. Для этого нужно воспользоваться функциями таких программ как MemTest86, Acronis, Everest.
Игра тормозит и лагает
Скорее всего данная проблема носит аппаратный характер. Проверьте системные требования игры и установите корректные настройки качества графики. Подробнее об оптимизации игры можно почитать на форуме. Также загляните в раздел файлов, где найдутся программы для оптимизации Magicka: Wizard Wars для работы на слабых ПК. Ниже рассмотрены исключительные случаи.
Появились тормоза в игре.
О: Проверьте компьютер на вирусы, отключите лишние фоновые процессы и неиспользуемые программы в диспетчере задач. Также стоит проверить состояние жесткого диска с помощью специализированных программ по типу Hard Drive Inspector. Проверьте температуру процессора и видеокарты —возможно пришла пора обслужить ваш компьютер.
Долгие загрузки в игре.
О: Проверьте состояние своего жесткого диска. Рекомендуется удалить лишние моды — они могут сильно влиять на продолжительность загрузок. Проверьте настройки антивируса и обязательно установите в нём “игровой режим” или его аналог.
Magicka: Wizard Wars лагает.
О: Причинами периодических тормозов (фризов или лагов) в Magicka: Wizard Wars могут быть запущенные в фоновом режиме приложения. Особое внимание следует уделить программам вроде Discord и Skype. Если лаги есть и в других играх, то рекомендуем проверить состояние жесткого диска — скорее всего пришла пора заменить его.
Проблемы с модами
Ошибки загрузки/обновления
Проверьте стабильность подключения к интернету, а также скорость загрузки. При слишком высоком пинге или низкой пропускной способности обновление может выдавать ошибки.
Если магазин или лончер Magicka: Wizard Wars не завершает обновления или выдает ошибки, то переустановите саму программу. При этом все скачанные вами игры сохранятся.
Запустите проверку целостности данных игры.
Проверьте наличие свободного места на том диске, на котором установлена игра, а также на диске с операционной системой. И в том и в другом случае должно быть свободно места не меньше, чем занимает игра на текущий момент. В идеале всегда иметь запас около 100Гб.
Проверьте настройки антивируса и “Защитника Windows”, а также разрешения в брандмауэре. Вполне возможно они ограничивают подключение к интернету для ряда приложений. Данную проблему можно решить и полной переустановкой магазина или лончера т.к. большинство из них попросит предоставить доступ к интернету в процессе инсталляции.
